# ButlerPay > ButlerPay is a governed delegated payment layer for luxury retail. > It enables client advisors to charge on behalf of VIP clients with > explicit consent, tokenisation, role-based authorization, and > audit-ready evidence. ## What is delegated payment? Delegated payment is a governed framework where a trusted person (client advisor) triggers a payment on behalf of a VIP client, within rules set by the luxury Maison. It replaces paper consent and manual card entry with digital consent, secure tokenisation, and full audit trails. ## What ButlerPay is NOT - Not a PSP — payment execution stays with Adyen, Stripe, etc. - Not a checkout or payment link - Not a digital wallet - Not a CRM or sales system ButlerPay is a delegation and evidence layer that sits between existing systems (CRM, POS, PSP) without replacing any of them. ## How it works 1. **VIP onboarding** — Client gives explicit consent; card is tokenised via web page or in-store terminal. 2. **In-store action** — Authorised client advisor triggers charge; store manager handles refunds (role-scoped). 3. **Evidence** — Every action generates an audit trail with full traceability and notifications. ## Problem it solves Luxury Maisons currently rely on paper consent forms, manual card entry, and locally stored card details for VIP payment delegation. These practices create PCI DSS compliance gaps, GDPR exposure, and audit-fragile evidence. ButlerPay replaces them with a governed digital workflow. ## Governance model - Authority is defined by the Maison (roles, perimeters, policies) - Payment execution stays with the PSP - ButlerPay frames delegation, not execution - Every critical action is explainable after the fact (who, when, for whom) within defined access rules ## Value by audience - **Maison leadership** — Formal delegation framework, reduced audit risk, fewer sensitive manual practices - **Boutique teams** — Operational continuity for clienteling with clear responsibilities - **VIP clients** — Discretion preserved, less friction, transparent notifications - **IT and compliance** — Governed integration, audit-ready evidence without core-system replacement ## Integration ButlerPay integrates into the existing Maison ecosystem: - CRM → client identity - POS → sale and invoice - PSP → payment execution and vault - **ButlerPay → delegation governance and evidence layer** ## Functional scope - Eligibility and assignment (CRM import, VIP selection, scope) - Onboarding (web or terminal, consent, tokenisation) - Operations (charge, refund, approvals, policy perimeters) - Controls (role-based access, scoped visibility) - Evidence (notifications, audit trail, reconciliation) ## Built by TMOC Consulting — [https://www.tmoc.pro](https://www.tmoc.pro) ## Links - Website: [https://www.butlerpay.eu](https://www.butlerpay.eu) - Contact: butlerpay@tmoc.eu
